𝐍𝐀𝐂 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭

19 November 2024 (La Union) -The National Amnesty Commission (NAC), represented by Atty. Rizal Thaddeus Acas, participated in the Local Peace and Order Summit organized by the City Government of San Fernando in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region I. The event was held at the La Union Convention Center (LUCC).

Representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) were also present.

The summit began with a welcome address from City Mayor Hermenegildo Gualberto, who emphasized the significance of peace and order in society. He described peace as a collective effort by individuals to replace a culture of hatred and violence. In his speech, he remarked that “there can be no development and progress without peace and order.”

Atty. Acas served as one of the resource speakers, delivering a presentation on the government’s amnesty program. He highlighted the role and commitment of amnesty in promoting peace and order within the community.

The summit aimed to strengthen coordination and support among various law enforcement agencies and address critical issues, particularly the engagement of youth in peace and order initiatives.
