𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

14 October 2024 (Isabela City, Basilan) -The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Basilan attended the Localizing Normalization Implementation (LNI) Secretariat meeting at Kasinnahan Hotel and Resort, which brought together stakeholders from the Provincial Government of Basilan, security forces, and peace partners who support the government’s amnesty program.

During the meeting, the LAB Secretariat shared important updates on the status of amnesty applications from members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The LAB Secretariat also discussed the progress of these applications both at the national and provincial levels and presented the LAB’s upcoming plans to increase public awareness about the amnesty program through information and education campaigns.

The meeting was presided over by Ariel Hernandez, LNI Co-Chair, from the Joint Normalization Committee (JNC), who reiterated the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in ensuring the success of the amnesty program. The LNI secretariat also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government’s amnesty program by providing assistance in the implementation of awareness campaigns and the overall application process.
