24 October (Davao City) — The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Davao City successfully held its 2nd Regular Board Meeting. All incumbent members of the LAB Davao attended, including Regional Prosecutor Janet Grace B. Dalisay-Fabrero and City Prosecutor Joseph M. Apao from the Department of Justice (DOJ); Colonel Michael A. Banua and Captain Dominador R. Labasa, representing the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); Atty. Aiza Mae Kanda of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP); and Atty. Jonah Margarette F. Presto from the City Mayor’s Office (CMO).

The LAB Davao reviewed updates on various administrative and program-related tasks, particularly the current processing status of newly received amnesty applications. The Board discussed challenges in the application process and proposed potential improvements to enhance service efficiency.

A key agenda item was the election of the LAB Davao Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. The Board unanimously elected Regional Prosecutor Fabrero as Chairperson and Colonel Banua as Vice Chairperson. These newly elected officials bring essential expertise from both the legal and security sectors to the amnesty program.

In closing, LAB Davao turned to planning and programming upcoming initiatives, focusing on organizing conferences for amnesty applicants.

The meeting concluded with a message from the newly elected Chairperson, “As public servants, we can’t say no (to work). Our duty is to serve. And this duty cannot be performed without support from other members (LAB Davao).”
