06 December 2024 (Malaybalay City) – In collaboration with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region X, the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Cagayan de Oro visited the Malaybalay City Jail. This initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts of the LAB and BJMP to extend the government’s amnesty program, under Executive Order No. 47, to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) before the year 2024 concludes.

As part of these efforts, the LAB also conducted an online orientation for PDLs and BJMP officers from detention facilities in Valencia, Bukidnon; Lanao del Norte; Iligan City; and Gingoog City.

During the visit, the LAB Secretariat presented key details of the amnesty program, addressed attendees’ questions and concerns, and emphasized the government’s sincere commitment to fostering peace and reconciliation. Pursuant to Section 2 of Proclamations 403, 404, 405, and 406, any member of the designated rebel organizations—including those detained, charged, or convicted—may apply for amnesty, provided their offenses were committed before the issuance of these Proclamations on 22 November 2023.
