The Chairman of the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Cagayan de Oro City, Regional Prosecutor Merlynn Barola-Uy, together with the LAB Secretariat, visited the Acting Regional Director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10), Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, at Camp Vicente Alagar in Cagayan de Oro City.

PBGEN De Guzman, who took over the leadership of PNP PRO 10 following the retirement of Police Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., will now serve as the PNP representative for LAB Cagayan de Oro.

During the meeting, Regional Prosecutor Uy and the LAB Secretariat provided an overview of the key features of the amnesty process and shared updates on the current data and status of the applications received. The discussion also focused on addressing challenges in information dissemination, application processing, and expediting verification responses. Plans were also laid out for the conduct of case conferences on the first batch of vetted applications to ensure that this critical phase of the amnesty application process is handled with urgency.

Also present at the meeting was Police Colonel Aaron M. Mandia, Chief of the Regional Intelligence and Detective Management Division (RIDMD).

Police Brigadier General De Guzman assured the LAB of the PNP’s proactive support and assistance in ensuring the swift and smooth implementation of the amnesty program.
