16 December 2024 (Isabela City, Basilan) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Basilan actively participated in the Localizing Normalization Implementation (LNI) Year-End Assessment and Planning Workshop, where they presented their key accomplishments for the year. Highlighting their contributions to the peace process, LAB emphasized the progress made in facilitating amnesty applications and ensuring strict implementation.

As part of the workshop, LAB Basilan also took part in the strategic planning sessions, proposing key activities for fiscal year 2025. The focus for the upcoming year will be on intensifying the Information and Education Campaign to raise awareness about the amnesty program, as well as organizing free legal aid services for amnesty applicants in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines ZamBaSulTa Chapter and Provincial Legal Office.

The event, which was facilitated by the Joint Normalization Committee (JNC) under the leadership of Chairperson Ariel Hernandez, brought together stakeholders from the security forces, civil society organizations, and other key sectors to collaborate on strengthening the normalization process and advancing peace in Basilan Province.
