𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐦𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬
27 January 2025 (Baguio City) – The Secretariat of the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Baguio City embarked on initiatives to strengthen its ties with the city’s local leaders.
The LAB was invited and introduced to the city’s employees during the flag-raising ceremony at the Baguio City Hall led by LAB Chairperson and City Mayor Benjamin Magalong on Monday, 27 January. The LAB Secretariat took the opportunity to introduce before the audience the National Amnesty Commission and its mandate. Also present and introduced in the ceremony were members of the LAB in Baguio namely, Deputy City Prosecutor Alfred Ganaban from the Department of Justice, Philippine National Police’s Baguio City Director Police Colonel Ruel Tagel, Atty. Elmer Sagsago from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Baguio Benguet Chapter, and Mr. Benjie Macadangdang who serves as an alternate member to the city mayor.
After the ceremony, the LAB Secretariat paid a courtesy visit to Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas. The visit aimed to receive clearance from the governor on the LAB’s intent to visit the Benguet Provincial Jail and establish coordination with Provincial Warden Peter Tip-ac.
The LAB Secretariat also visited the Philippine Information Office (PIO) in Benguet to coordinate on the LAB’s information dissemination campaigns. The LAB aims to make use of the PIO’s official Facebook page to raise awareness on the Amnesty program.
