07–08 July 2025 (Libmanan, Camarines Sur) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Albay was invited by the 9th Infantry Batallion (IB) to conduct a courtesy call on the Local Chief Executive of Libmanan, Camarines Sur, and to carry out a peace engagement activity with stakeholders from Barangay Villasocorro. This initiative was conducted in partnership with the 9th Infantry (Sandigan) Battalion, led by LTC Thomas B. Bawayan Jr., INF (GSC) PA, and facilitated by 2LT Mikaela Nicole R. Santiago (FS) PA.

The primary objective of the activity was to raise awareness about the government’s amnesty program, which offers former rebels an opportunity to reintegrate into mainstream society. The program promotes healing and reconciliation, ensures due process and legal protection, and aims to reduce hostilities and violence. Successful implementation is expected to enhance community engagement and lay the groundwork for long-term development.

On the second day, an information drive was conducted at the 9th IB camp for Philippine Army personnel, led by Mr. Philipp D. Listanco, Secretariat Head of LAB Albay. During the event, three applicants submitted their amnesty applications and completed initial interviews.

The National Amnesty Commission extends its sincere gratitude to the 9th IB of the Philippine Army, for their continued and unwavering support of the operations of the Local Amnesty Board Albay, Bicol.
