18 to 19 March 2025 (Tacloban City, Leyte) – The National Amnesty Commission (NAC), headed by Chairperson Leah C. Tanodra-Armamento with Commissioners Jamar M. Kulayan and Ser-me L. Ayuyao, held a two-day orientation for newly established Local Amnesty Boards (LABs) in Visayas attended by members and secretariat of LABs in Tacloban, Catbalogan, and Bohol.

The activity served as a venue for the participants to acclimate in the history, processes, and functions of the LAB. While LABs in Tacloban and Catbalogan have already started receiving amnesty applications–with a total of 109 and 334 applications, respectively– their participation in the activity was still imperative as frontline implementers of the government’s amnesty program.

Present in the activity were members of the LABs from different government agencies including Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Justice, Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, as well as the Public Attorney’s Office and guests from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity’s Area Management Unit in Eastern Visayas.
