10-11 February 2025 (Tagbilaran City, Bohol) – The National Amnesty Commission, led by Chairperson Leah C. Tanodra-Armamento and Commissioner Jamar M. Kulayan, visited the province of Bohol to meet with Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado and join Bohol’s Provincial Day of Peace.

The NAC delegation met with Governor Aumentado and discussed the establishment of a Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in the province. This comes after the NAC received a request from the provincial government, providing a more accessible venue for filing of Amnesty applications.

The Day of Peace event, dubbed as β€œKauban sa Reporma sa Malahutayong Kahapsay sa Kalinaw,” was attended by former rebels, with some receiving livelihood assistance from the local government. During the activity, NAC Chairperson Tanodra-Armamento shared the good news before the audience that a Local Amnesty Board is set to be established in the province. Since a LAB has no specific geographical jurisdiction, this will enable applicants from nearby cities or provinces to take advantage of the government’s Amnesty program.

The event brought together local and national officials symbolizing Bohol’s commitment promoting sustainable peace and development in the province.
