𝐍𝐀𝐂 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨, 𝐋𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧
06 August 2024 (La Union) – The National Amnesty Commission (NAC), led by its Chairperson Leah Tanodra-Armamento, visited Colonel Ramon F. Laudencia, the City Administrator of San Fernando City Mayor’s Office.
The primary agenda of this meeting is to discuss the establishment and composition of a Local Amnesty Board (LAB) within the City of San Fernando. This board will serve as the frontline office of the NAC, specifically tasked with receiving and processing amnesty applications, particularly from former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and their front organizations. During the visit, Chairperson Tanodra-Armamento briefly discussed the mandate of the NAC.
Additionally, Colonel Laudencia responded positively, offering his support for any assistance the NAC might need. The team was also warmly welcomed by Atty. Maria Nadia Nalinac G. Pilar, Police Major Gerardo V. Manzano, and Police Captain Augusto D. Gacayan. The NAC team expressed their appreciation for the hospitality and the local government’s dedication to supporting the government’s amnesty program.
