20 March 2024 (Iloilo City) – The National Amnesty Commission, led by Chairperson Leah C. Tanodra-Armamento and Commissioner Nasser A. Marohomsalic, with Commissioner Jamar M. Kulayan joining online, conducted a discussion with the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) members and secretariat to fortify their capabilities in line with the implementation of the amnesty program.
The meeting aimed to further equip the LAB with necessary knowledge and familiarity on the amnesty application process as the NAC begins accepting amnesty applications after receiving Senate concurrence on the amnesty proclamations early this month. Harnessing the collective expertise of the group, the activity also provided a venue for the LAB members to share and exchange ideas and best practices on how to implement more effectively the application process, especially noting experiences from their respective offices.
Key figures from different sectors were present, namely Rev. Fr. Ildefonso Cachuela, Iloilo Provincial Prosecutor Ma. Elena HofileΓ±a-Gerochi, IBP Iloilo Chapter President Atty. Hilarion Firmeza, Jr., Iloilo Police City Director PCOL Joeresty P. Coronica, and 301st Brigade Deputy Commander COL Manolito F. Montiel and his alternate, CPT Randy A. Besa.
