Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) North Eastern Mindanao Commander and now Member of Parliament Abdullah Macapaar, more popularly known as βKumander Bravo,β received amnesty application forms from National Amnesty Commission (NAC) Commissioner Jamar M. Kulayan and Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.
This was announced by Secretary Galvez during the Inter-Cabinet Cluster Mechanism on Normalization (ICCMN) Caravan at Camp Bilal, Munai, Lanao del Norte, this morning.
In his welcome speech, Kumander Bravo also urged members of the MILF and decommissioned combatants to apply for amnesty to fully reintegrate into civilian life.
The current amnesty program allows members of the MILF, MNLF, and Rebolusyonaryong Partidong Manggagawa ng Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army/Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPMP-RPA-ABB) to file their applications until March 4, 2026. Meanwhile, former rebels of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) have until March 14, 2026, to seek amnesty for their political offenses.
Commissioner Kulayan encouraged members of the MILF who intend to participate in the forthcoming First Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections to seek amnesty immediately. This will provide the NAC sufficient time to process their applications before the filing of certificates of candidacy this coming October.
