21 August 2024 (Davao City) –The 1003rd Infantry β€œRaptor” Brigade of the 10th Infantry β€œAgila” Division, Philippine Army, recently hosted an orientation on the amnesty application process. This event served as a platform for the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Davao City to provide comprehensive information and guidance on the amnesty program for Former Rebels (FRs) currently in the custody of various units under the 1003rd Brigade.

Brigadier General Marion Angcao, Commander of the 1003rd Brigade, warmly welcomed LAB Davao to their camp. The LAB Davao congratulated Brigadier General Angcao on the 1003rd Brigade’s recognition as the Top Performing Unit of the 10th Infantry β€œAgila” Division during the Division’s recent Annual General Inspection for Calendar Year 2024.

Colonel Michael Banua, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 1003rd Brigade and a primary member of LAB Davao, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of the amnesty initiative in fostering peace and reconciliation.

The LAB Davao then provided an orientation on the National Amnesty Commission (NAC) and detailed the specifics of the amnesty program. The presentation highlighted the objectives and benefits of the amnesty, designed to encourage former rebels to reintegrate into society. This was followed by a detailed discussion of the Amnesty Application Process Flow based on the NAC’s Rules of Procedure, offering attendees clear, step-by-step instructions on how to apply for amnesty.

The event concluded with the distribution and filling out of Amnesty Application Forms by 39 FRs. The Brigade’s retainer lawyer and notary public, Atty. Kenneth Dabi, administered the FRs’ sworn statements and Oath of Allegiance.

This orientation underscores the Philippine Army’s commitment to supporting former rebels through structured programs that promote national unity and peace.
