11 June 2025 (Munai, Lanao del Norte) – After successive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaigns conducted in strategic areas in the Province of Lanao del Norte, the planned One-Stop Amnesty Caravan finally kicked off in Camp Bilal bin Rabbah Darul Shuhadah in Sitio Kura-Kura, Tamparan, Munai on June 11, 2025.

The event aimed to gather MILF Decommissioned combatants from the major Base Commands to aid them in their application for Amnesty under Executive Order (EO) 47 – Proclamation No. 405, issued by His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Combatants from the 123rd, 125th, 127th, 130th and Camp Bilal Base Commands and the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) came to submit their amnesty applications during the caravan that was organized by the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG), the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP), Pakigdait Inc., the Provincial Localized Normalization Implementation Committee (PLNIC), the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation & Unity (OPAPRU), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The Local Amnesty Board of Cagayan de Oro (LAB CDO), together with enablers from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), assisted the applicants in filling out amnesty application forms, while the rest of the team provided assistance in the production of documentary requirements, taking of ID photos and the final assessment and intake. The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) of Iligan City provided very important legal support in the notarization of necessary documents and administered the Oath of the applicants. The process flow was designed and planned with the end-goal of streamlining the application process and ensuring that all requirements are met in one setting.

A total of thirty-five (35) applications were received during the caravan, and more are expected as plans are underway to bring the campaign to other MILF Base Commands in an effort to reach out to more combatants and emphasize the campaign’s ultimate objective that β€œno one should be left behind”.

MP Sultan Abdullah β€œBravo” G. Macapaar delivered his Opening Message with a continued call for reconciliation and unity from across all faiths and religions, as well as expressing his support and appreciation for the government’s efforts in promoting peace and inclusivity.

These collaborations is a testament of the government and civil society’s sincere desire and committed effort to heal the wounds of conflict and usher in an era of true brotherhood and harmony.
