27 & 29 May 2025 (Oriental & Occidental Mindoro) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Quezon, in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), the 203rd Infantry “Bantay Kapayapaan” Brigade, and the 76th Infantry “Victrix” Battalion, successfully conducted an amnesty orientation in Oriental and Occidental Mindoro.
The orientation aimed to inform and empower Former Rebels (FRs) by providing comprehensive details on the governmentโs amnesty program, including its requirements, benefits, and step-by-step application process. Representatives from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Offices of both Oriental and Occidental Mindoro were also present.
During the activity, the LAB Secretariat of Quezon received a total of 32 amnesty applicationsโ11 from the 203rd Infantry “Bantay Kapayapaan” Brigade and 21 from the 76th Infantry “Victrix” Battalion. The Public Attorneyโs Office (PAO) was on hand throughout the application process, ensuring that all forms were under oath. Furthermore, the Legal and Amnesty Operations Office lawyers, Atty. Angel D. Sosa and Atty. Lewy Katrin S. Cortez, were also present through a video conference to ensure that they cater legal queries regarding their applications.
The LAB Secretariat of Quezon also paid a courtesy visit to Brigadier General Melencio W. Ragudo, PA, Commander of the 203rd Infantry “Bantay Kapayapaan” Brigade, and Lieutenant Colonel Randy P. Galiza, INF (GSC), Commander of the 76th Infantry “Victrix” Battalion. Both commanders expressed their unwavering support for the governmentโs reintegration efforts, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration in building lasting peace in the region.
