30 May 2025 (Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur) โ€“ The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) La Union concluded its first orientation and amnesty application intake hosted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines at 501st Brigade, Bugbuga, Sta Cruz, Ilocos Sur.

The LAB Secretariat of La Union conducted the orientation and outlined the process flow of the Amnesty Program. Through strong collaboration with LAB Baguio, a total of 51 amnesty applications from former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF were successfully received and processedโ€”the highest number of applicants from Luzon to date.

The activity was well-supported by representatives from the City Legal Office of San Fernando City Atty. Nadia Nalinac Gonzales-Pilar and Atty. Jestherin Baliton, Atty. Val Mollyn Paguel and Atty. Ronald Ordinario from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines La Union Chapter and Ilocos Sur Chapter President Atty Judelyn Acosta and Atty Cherrie Moana Marie Javines. Also present from the Department of Justice was Atty. Angelica Hadloc who administered the oath of the applicants.

This milestone brings the total number of amnesty applicants from former CPP-NPA-NDF members to 1,957 as of 30 May 2025.
