18 February 2025 (Northern Samar) β The Local Amnesty Board Secretariat in Catbalogan City visited the Northern Samar Provincial Police Office (NSPPO) and 803rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 (RMFB8) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) as it furthers its collaborative efforts with stakeholders of the governmentβs amnesty program.
The team was welcomed by Police Director Police Colonel Sonnie Omengan and Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Montano of the NSPPO. PCOL Omengan requested the said orientation which brought together Chiefs of Police from twenty-four (24) municipalities and their mobile forces, to equip the force with the needed knowledge about the amnesty program as they anticipate receiving 300 amnesty applications.
The LAB then engaged in another orientation, this time with the 803rd MC, RMFB 8 in Imelda, Mondragon. This visit aimed to enhance the officers’ and men’s capabilities in supporting the amnesty program’s implementation in the region.
These visits were made possible through the partnership with the Eastern Visayas Area Management Units and Special Project Team of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity. The LAB aims to continuously cascade ground orientations across various stakeholders ensuring potential applicantsβ full access to the amnesty program.
