17 February 2025 (Muntinlupa City) β The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of the National Capital Region (NCR), in collaboration with the Task Force Detainees of the Philippines (TFDP), conducted an amnesty learning session at the New Bilibid Prison Maximum Security Compound, in Muntinlupa City.
The session aimed to provide persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) with a clear understanding of the amnesty process, including its legal basis, eligibility requirements, and procedural guidelines. Participants were given an overview of how amnesty serves as a mechanism for peace and reconciliation, particularly for those who meet the qualifications set by the presidential proclamations.
Following the discussion, the LAB NCR facilitated the submission of additional amnesty applications from interested PDLs, ensuring proper documentation and guidance in the application process.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Public Attorneyβs Office NCR, Medical Action Group, and Balay Rehabilitation Center, who provided legal, medical, and psychosocial support to the participants.
