21 October 2024 (Davao City) โ€” The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Davao City, in coordination with representatives from the Office of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Member of Parliament Baileng Mantawil, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (MILF-CCCH), and the Ad Hoc Joint Action Group (AHJAG), conducted a visit to the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DAPECOL) in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

The purpose of the visit was to assist detained members of the MILF in submitting their amnesty applications.

The event took place in the facilityโ€™s visiting hall, bringing together Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) from both the Maximum and Minimum Security compounds. The program began with an opening prayer, followed by brief remarks from Correction Inspector Argie H. Adel of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) – DAPECOL, and Mr. Omar Bayao of the MILF-CCCH. The LAB Secretariat then provided an orientation on the amnesty program and detailed the application process.

During the visit, 20 MILF PDLs successfully completed their application forms. Once all necessary requirements have been gathered, the forms will be submitted to the LAB Davao for further processing.

The LAB Davao, in collaboration with the Office of MP Baileng Mantawil, MILF-CCCH, and AHJAG, remains committed to reaching other MILF PDLs in various detention facilities across the Davao Region, ensuring that those eligible can avail of the governmentโ€™s amnesty program.
