As part of its ongoing efforts to extend the reach of the Amnesty Program to Former Rebels (FRs) currently in detention, the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Cagayan de Oro visited the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office X. The LAB Secretariat conducted an initial orientation for FRs detained in the female dormitory, aiming to introduce the program’s key features, benefits, and the procedures involved in the application process.

The LAB Secretariat also addressed the concerns of the detainees, alleviating their fears and apprehensions regarding the amnesty application process. Clarifications on the procedure and its scope were discussed to provide the detainees with a clearer understanding of how the program could significantly contribute to their journey toward peace and security.

Plans were also made to conduct wider information dissemination and amnesty application initiatives in other detention facilities in Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, and Lanao del Sur, under the supervision of BJMP R10.

Accompanying the LAB Secretariat during the activity were officers and staff of BJMP R10, led by Inspector Irvin Tagocon and Jail Inspector Lyn Bernil, Acting Jail Warden for the Female Dormitory.
