As part of the 20th National Peace Consciousness Month celebration, the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Basilan participated in the KaPEACEtahan Service Caravan organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU). The event, held at the Municipal Hall grounds in Barangay Magcawa, Albarka, was a collaborative effort between the Provincial Government of Basilan and various ministries and offices from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

This year’s theme, “Peace Month @ 20: Bagong Pilipinas—Transforming Minds, Transforming Lives,” inspired LAB Basilan to actively support the government’s amnesty program. LAB secretariats conducted an information dissemination campaign, distributing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and application forms to members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), and their families, providing guidance on the amnesty program and its application process.
