The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Legazpi City, Albay attended the Local Peace Engagement, Serbisyo Caravan, and Dialogue organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) on September 25-27, 2024, at Brgy. Lidong, Brgy. Bantugan, Brgy. Pagsangahan, Brgy. Bicalen, Brgy. Bitaogan, and Brgy. Liwacsan, Municipality of Presentacion, Province of Camarines Norte. The LAB conducted an introduction and orientation on the Amnesty Application process in Camarines Sur and the Albay Region.
This is part of OPAPRU’s continuous implementation of Executive Order No. 70, initiated by former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). The event was attended by Mr. Paul E. Escober, Area Management Unit Head (Southern Luzon), and Mr. Christopher B. Aszucena, Bicolandia Coordinator (Bicol Region), along with representatives from participating agencies such as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Presentacion led by Mayor Hon. Alicia Deleรฑa, Barangay LGUs, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the 83rd Infantry (Matikas) Battalion of the 9th Infantry Division, PA, the Philippine Coast Guard, and various national government agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), PhilHealth, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), TESDA, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and other government agencies. These agencies enthusiastically offered various programs and benefits aimed at improving the welfare of the barangays.
The BLGUโs presented their Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), which were addressed by the participating agencies through assistance and support to help realize these initiatives. This activity is part of the governmentโs efforts to address insurgency through collaboration and by demonstrating its commitment to addressing the needs of the people. The event highlighted the creation and active role of the National Amnesty Commission, which aims to provide another chance for former rebels and individuals rescued from conflict to reintegrate into society and promote lasting peace.
