25 September 2024 (Cotabato City) — The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Secretariat in Cotabato City conducted an orientation on the government’s amnesty program for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Cotabato City Jail Male Dormitory.

In coordination with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cotabato City Chapter, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Cotabato City Jail Male Dormitory, and other line agencies in the Bangsamoro region, LAB Cotabato provided PDLs with essential information on the amnesty application process during the Jail Visitation and Amnesty Orientation.

Many of the interested PDL applicants were members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The orientation aimed to encourage PDLs to return to the fold of the law and take advantage of the government’s amnesty program.
