12 September 2024 (Isabela City, Basilan) — The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Secretariat in Basilan paid a courtesy visit to Police Colonel Cerrazid A. Umabong, the newly designated Acting Provincial Director of the Basilan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and alternate member of the LAB, representing the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The meeting centered on key aspects of the amnesty program, including the application process, roles and responsibilities of the LAB members, and strategic initiatives to expedite the verification and investigation of information and allegations submitted through amnesty applications.
Police Colonel Umabong expressed his full support for LAB Basilan, underscoring the importance of a close and collaborative relationship between the LAB and the PNP. He reaffirmed his commitment to a strong partnership in conducting education and awareness campaigns within the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) communities throughout Basilan.
Also in attendance were Police Major Alfadda Osalli of the Provincial Operations Unit (POU) and Police Major Blayn Lomas-e of the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU), both of whom likewise expressed their commitment to ensuring thorough information vetting and upholding the overall integrity and success of the governmentβs amnesty program.
