The Task Force Balik-Loob (TFBL) hosted a major Stakeholders Engagement and People’s Organization (PO) Summit for Former Rebels (FRs) from 27 to 30 August 2024 in Davao City. The event was led by Captain Ferdinand C. Buscato of the Philippine Navy, who serves as the Acting Executive Director of TFBL, alongside Brigadier General Marion Angcao of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army.
This four-day summit aimed to facilitate dialogue among TFBL, the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) Committees, focal persons, and FRs to enhance the effectiveness of the E-CLIP program. It also served as a platform to orient the FRs on the governmentโs amnesty program, providing them with information on the benefits and procedures for applying for amnesty.
On 29 August 2024, Atty. Rizal Thaddeus Acas, the Acting Director for Legal and Amnesty Operations of the National Amnesty Commission (NAC), delivered a presentation at the Summit. He provided an overview of the NAC’s mandate, outlined the governmentโs amnesty program, and explained the amnesty application process in detail, including a comprehensive overview of the application process flow.
The secretariat of the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) in Davao City distributed amnesty application forms to the 100 FRs who participated in the Summit and looks forward to receiving them once the FRs have completed the necessary requirements.
