25 June 2025 (Talacogan, Agusan del Sur) – The Local Amnesty Board of Cagayan de Oro (LAB CDO), together with the assigned Officer In-Charge on the Amnesty Program of the Fourth Infantry “Diamond” Division (4ID) PA–LTC Gilbert C. Nohay GSC (AGS) PA, visits the home of the 26th “Ever Onward” Infantry Battalion- 403rd Brigade PA in Barangay Zamora, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on June 25, 2025.

The visit coincides with the ongoing “Friends Rescued” (FR) Forum organized by the unit to address concerns and extend continuing assistance to FR’s under its custody. A presentation on the Amnesty Program and the subsequent intake of amnesty applications highlighted the event. A total of twenty-seven (27) applications were received by the LAB, mostly coming from FRs belonging to the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) Front 88.

Atty. Rachelle Bahian-Hisuan of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) – Bayugan City, administered the Oath of the applicants. She also emphasized the support and commitment of her office in helping the FRs with their ongoing cases and in resolving their other legal concerns.

The 26th IB PA, headed by its Battalion Commander LTC Jose Redentor C. Gilbuela INF (GSC) PA, expressed their unit’s hope for a swift and smooth amnesty process as this endeavor is considered a pivotal factor in the country’s fight to end local communist insurgency and flagrant propaganda.
