09 July 2025 (Borongan City, Eastern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board, in partnership with the 63rd Infantry “Innovator” Battalion, 8ID, Philippine Army, successfully conducted an orientation for 45 former rebels on July 9, 2025, at the 78th Infantry Battalion Headquarters in Brgy. Lalawigan.

Led by Mrs. Jazmine Odyssa B. Lutao, Peace Program Officer III, the orientation aimed to inform and educate former rebels on the Amnesty Program, highlighting its benefits and application procedures. The program offers a peaceful and lawful avenue for reintegration into mainstream society.

The activity was attended by key officials, including Atty. Gelyn Diaz-Omanito, Atty. Alexander D. Seso, and Atty. Emmanuel Apelado, among others. This initiative demonstrates the unified efforts of the military, local government units, and stakeholders in promoting peacebuilding, reconciliation, and community transformation in conflict-affected areas.

The Local Amnesty Board received applications from former rebels, marking a significant step towards achieving sustainable peace and development in the region.
