28 November, 2025 (San Isidro, Leyte) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) marks another significant milestone in the ongoing pursuit of peace and reconciliation, as a total of sixty-four (64) individuals successfully submitted their applications for amnesty. This noteworthy turnout reflects the growing public confidence in the government’s peace initiatives and underscores the strong collaboration among partner agencies and stakeholders.

The LAB extends its deep appreciation to its Chairperson, Hon. Alfred S. Romualdez, for his steadfast support and unwavering commitment to the National Amnesty Program. The City Government of Taclobanβ€”through the Tacloban City Mayor’s Office, the City Administrator’s Office, and the City Legal Officeβ€”played an essential role in the successful conduct of this activity. Their coordinated efforts, support, and logistical assistance were vital to the event’s smooth and efficient implementation.

Gratitude is also extended to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), particularly the 93rd Infantry Battalion under the 802nd Infantry Brigade led by Col. Rico O. Amaro. Their active participation and assistance in coordinating and identifying applicants significantly contributed to the orderly flow of proceedings.

The LAB likewise acknowledges the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) for deploying Atty. Ginalyn O. Moralde, Atty. Arfel Jane C. Cabradilla, and Ms. Sarah R. Lubiano, who provided dedicated legal assistance to the applicants throughout the activity.

Sincere appreciation is further given to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Uswag Sinirangan Bisayas, Inc. for their invaluable support. Their continued cooperation remains instrumental in ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of the Commission’s amnesty services.
