23 July, 2025 (Tacloban City, Leyte) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Tacloban City successfully conducted its 3rd Conference on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the CCDLAO Office, Tacloban City Hall. During the session, 10 amnesty applicants were deliberated upon, and all were recommended for approval by the LAB members.
The conference was attended by key LAB members: Atty. Ivy Carba, Alternate Chairperson; Col. Rico Amaro, Primary Member representing the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); Atty. Sharilee Angela Mauro, Primary Member from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP); and PCol. Noelito Getigan, Alternate Member from the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Following a comprehensive and impartial review of each application, all 10 amnesty applicants were recommended for grant by the LAB members. The recommendations were based on the fulfillment of documentary requirements, eligibility under the amnesty proclamation, and the full cooperation of the applicants during the evaluation process. This outcome reflects the board’s ongoing commitment to justice, reconciliation, and the reintegration of qualified individuals into mainstream society under the national amnesty program.
Also present at the conference was the Head Secretariat of LAB Catbalogan City, who provided technical assistance and procedural support to the Tacloban Secretariat. This collaboration underscores the shared effort among LAB offices to maintain uniformity and efficiency in amnesty proceedings across the region. The successful conduct of the conference highlights the dedication of all involved in ensuring a fair, transparent, and credible implementation of the amnesty process.
