12 November, 2025 (Impasug-ong, Bukidnon) – The Local Amnesty Board of Cagayan de Oro (LAB CDO) records its highest one-day amnesty application intake during the β€œFriends Rescued” Summit held at the 8th Infantry (Dependable) Battalion Headquarters in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon Province on November 12, 2025.

A total of one hundred sixty-five (165) former members of the CPP NPA NDF operating in the areas of Calabugao, Hagpa, Bulonay, Cabanglasan and Impasug-ong in the Province of Bukidnon surrendered to the 8th Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division PA under the command of LTC Jeorge R. Jallorina INF (GSC) PA. This came after the unit’s extensive information drive efforts and consistent dialogues with IP leaders, barangay officials, local government units and concerned organizations — magnifying the government’s sincere reintegration efforts through its ECLIP Programs and the implementation of the Amnesty Program under Executive Order (E.O.) No. 47.

The event also witnessed the surrender of five (5) FRs who decided to lay down their arms in the pursuit of normal, productive lives away from conflict and uncertainty. The various benefits that they can get from the different programs of government, foremost of which is the offer of amnesty have been the driving force in their decision to return to the folds of the law.

With the theme: β€œStrengthening Reintegration & Empowerment for Sustainable Peace in Bukidnon”, the event saw the presentation of action plans of the Bukidnon Alang sa Kalinaw Association Inc. (BUKAI) and the induction of a new set of officers for the newly organized Bukidnon Uma sa Kalambuan Agriculture Cooperative (BUKACO). These organizations are formed to strengthen and empower former rebels by providing sustained support mechanisms to aid them in their reintegration journey.

The Summit, organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation & Unity (OPAPRU) and the 8th Infantry Battalion together with the Local Government of Bukidnon, is a congregation of different government agencies, FR Federations and friends rescued all coming together as one community bound by a common goal of unity and brotherhood.
