17 October 2025 (Calinog, Iloilo) – Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Iloilo paid a courtesy visit to the newly designated LAB Member, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 301st Infantry Brigade Col. Leroy S. Daanton PA at Camp General Ceferino S. Carreon in Brgy. Libot, Calinog, Iloilo. Also present was Maj. Mariel G. Bonilla, S2, 301Bde.

During the visit, Col. Daanton discussed the current situation of the army’s operations throughout the region, citing that there are only a few active and armed members of the CPP-NPA-NDF left. He also explained that the battalion’s efforts are continuous to ensure security within the region, as well as peace-building with former rebels. These are manifest in the 8 encounters the battalions have had in Tapaz, Capiz in just a span of over a month.

Members of the LAB Secretariat gave updates regarding the status of applications received so far, as well as the coordination efforts between the LAB and the PA. With these efforts, the Philippine Army remains hopeful that complete peace all over the Panay Island will be attained in the near future.
