13-14 October 2025 (Basey, Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, in collaboration with the 63rd Infantry β€œInnovator” Battalion, held a two-day orientation and intake session for 57 Friends Rescued (FRs) in Barangay Guirang, Basey, Samar. 2LT Stephanie G. Pilapil (OS) PA, as representative of Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo I. Meclat Jr. INF (GSC) PA, delivered her opening speech of support for the Amnesty Program.

The LAB Secretariat discussed the amnesty program of the government, specific crimes covered and those that were not. Thereafter, Special Project Team (SPT) from OPAPRU helped the LAB Secretariat process the FR’s applications.

All FRs took their oath before Atty. Zacharias Duquilla and Atty. Mark Anthony Almanza, representatives from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). Both PAO Lawyers ensured that the FRs fully understood the oath of allegiance and the amnesty program.

This initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to ending insurgency and providing a path for our Friends Rescued to reintegrate into mainstream society.
