02 October 2025 (Catubig, Northern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, in collaboration with the 19th Infantry (Commando) Battalion, held an orientation and intake session for seven former rebels in Barangay Opong, Catubig, Northern Samar.

The orientation was facilitated by Jazmine Odyssa Lutao, LAB Catbalogan’s Peace Program Officer III, to raise awareness among both the former rebels and the 19IB personnel about the government’s amnesty program. Following the session, participants engaged in a dialogue, during which both the former rebels and 19IB personnel asked questions to clarify aspects of the program.

Representing Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ricky James L. Rosalejos, Battalion Executive Officer Major Leo B. Abulencia expressed his appreciation to the partner agencies involved and emphasized the importance of the initiative.

All the former rebels present chose to apply for amnesty and took their oath before Atty. Ferminlino C. Ultra and Atty. Mae Lisette Espina from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).

Before the intake concluded, Ms. Lutao expressed her gratitude to Deputy Brigade Commander Colonel Ericson Rosana for his continued support of LAB Catbalogan’s objectives.
