01 October, 2025 (Las Navas, Northern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, in partnership with the 20th Infantry (We Lead) Battalion, conducted an orientation and intake activity for seven former rebels in Barangay San Jorge, Las Navas, Northern Samar.

During the event, Major Mayford Ganar, representing Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Tim Clavel, welcomed the LAB Catbalogan Secretariat, Colonel Ericson Rosana, and a Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) lawyer. He emphasized the importance of the amnesty program in promoting unity within the community.

Peace Program Officer III, Jazmine Odyssa Lutao, expressed appreciation to Colonel Rosana, noting that this was the first intake activity attended by a Deputy Brigade Commander. She also provided a comprehensive overview of the government’s Amnesty Program, including the application procedures.

Legal Officer Atty. Gelyn Diaz-Omanito explained the types of crimes eligible for amnesty, as well as those that are excluded.

All seven former rebels chose to apply for amnesty and were formally sworn in by Atty. Ferminlino C. Ultra of the Public Attorney’s Office.

In his closing remarks, Colonel Ericson Rosana, Deputy Brigade Commander, reaffirmed the 803rd Brigade’s commitment to supporting the Province of Northern Samar in its efforts to end insurgency and promote lasting peace.
