01 July 2025 (Iriga City) – The Local Amnesty Board – Albay in collaboration with 42nd Infantry Battalion, headed by LTC Marcial M. Lumanga GSC (INF) PA, through the effort of Hon. Rowena Nina A. Taduran, Undersecretary of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and in coordination with Hon. Alan A. Tanhusay, Undersecretary for the Peace and Development Group at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), facilitated the formal surrender of a member of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in the activity held at San Nicolas, Iriga City.

The LAB Albay Secretariat headed by Mr. Philipp D. Listanco, conducted a thorough amnesty orientation for the former combatant, assisting with the completion and submission of his amnesty application. The required documents were properly subscribed by a representative from the Department of Justice, City Prosecutor’s Office (DOJ-CPO) in Iriga City.

Throughout the process, the agencies involved provided the essential support and encouragement for the surrendering member, ensuring a smooth transition from conflict to peace. The efforts of National Amnesty Commission through Local Amnesty Board, alongside its government and military partners, continue to foster trust and cooperation with communities, furthering the objectives of peace reintegration and national unity.
