11 September 2025 (Catarman, Northern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan City attended the 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), and other organizations. The said meeting was presided over by the Provincial Governor of Northern Samar, Hon. Harris Christopher M. Ongchuan held at the Ibabao Hall, Capitol Building, Barangay Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

During the said meeting, Ms. Imelda C. Bonifacio, Program Manager of OPAPRU AMU Eastern Visayas, informed the body regarding the inclusion of the National Amnesty Commission (NAC) in the E-Clip and Amnesty Program Cluster (EAP Cluster); thus, the Local Amnesty Boards (LAB) shall join the Joint Regional Task Force.

In line with the above, Ms. Bonifacio moved to include the Local Amnesty Board of Catbalogan as a member of PPOC to officially participate in the Joint Council Meeting. She introduced the representatives from LAB Catbalogan, Ms. Jazmine Odyssa Lutao, Peace Program Office III, and Atty. Gelyn Diaz-Omanito, Legal Officer.

The LAB membership in the Joint Council Meetings will increase public awareness about the amnesty and foster strong participation among the stakeholders especially in the province of Northern Samar.
