10-11 September, 2025 (Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental) – The Local Amnesty Board of Cagayan de Oro (LAB CDO) joins the Kalinaw sa Amihanang Mindanaw: FR & Peacebuilders’ Summit in Cagayan de Oro on September 10, 2025. The event, spearheaded by the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) 10 aims to celebrate the transformative journey of “peacebuilders” and honor the collective efforts and contributions of peace partners from across the region for unity and reconciliation.

ECLIP Commitees from Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental, as well as partner agencies from both the government and civil society sector all came together to honor triumphs, share stories and affirm commitments to the country’s peace agenda. LAB CDO presented the amnesty program to the eighty (80) assembled “Friends Rescued” from the province of Bukidnon, as well as gave updates on the current status of applications received.

Day 1 of the activity held at Chali Beach Resort was attended by LTGEN Luis Rex D. Bergante, Commander of the AFP’s Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM), Bukidnon Governor Hon. Rogelio Neil Roque, Dir. Jeriko Roman Sasing, Chief of Staff of the NTF-ELCAC National Secretariat, COL. Francisco Molina of the AFP’s Civil Military Operations Office, DILG 10 Director Bruce A. Colao, 4th Infantry (4ID) Division Commander MGEN Michele Anayron, PCOL Aaron Mandia of PNP PRO 10 and DOJ Regional Prosecutor/LAB CDO Chair, Atty. Merlynn Barola-Uy.

The Demilitarization of Turned-in Firearms was hosted by the PNP PRO 10 in Camp 1LT Vicente Alagar on September 11. Focal points of discussion were the ECLIP guidelines and other issues and concerns faced on the local level.

Joining the event are ASEC Katherine B. Lingan, the Asst. Secretary for Policy Management of the DND NTF-ELCAC, Dir. Dennis Villasenor, the Director of the National Barangay Operations Office and PBGEN Rolindo Suguilon, PNP PRO 10 Regional Director.

The 2-day Summit was a testament of the strong inter-agency collaboration in Region 10 that paved the way for its significant contributions to the whole-of-nation effort towards reintegration and peaceful co-existence.
