12 September, 2025 (Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) La Union successfully conducted an orientation and amnesty application intake at the 24th Infantry Battalion (24IB), Philippine Army, in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. The event was hosted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and proceeded smoothly with active participation from various stakeholders.

A total of 40 individuals attended the event. Of these, 34 submitted additional documentary requirements for their previously filed applications during the May 2025 intake, while 6 were new legitimate applicants seeking amnesty under existing government programs.

Representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) – Ilocos Sur Chapter were present to provide legal guidance and ensure due process in the application proceedings.

The activity is part of the government’s continuing efforts to promote peace, reconciliation, and reintegration through the amnesty program, in line with national peace and security initiatives.
