06 August, 2025 (Tacloban City, Leyte) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Tacloban City successfully held its 4th Conference on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the CCDLAO Office, Tacloban City Hall.

During the deliberations, seven amnesty applicants were thoroughly reviewed. After a comprehensive and impartial evaluation, five were unanimously recommended for approval, while two applicants were scheduled for further review in the next session. The session also marked the participation of the newly hired LAB Secretariats, further enhancing the board’s administrative support and operational efficiency.

The conference was attended by key LAB members: Atty. Ivy Carba, Alternate Chairperson; Col. Rico Amaro, Primary Member representing the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); CP Ma. Liza Jorda; Major John L. Paner; Regional Prosecutor Erwin Maraya; and PCol. Noelito Getigan, Alternate Member from the Philippine National Police (PNP). Also present was Atty. Sheryl Arias from the Public Attorney’s Office, who assisted in legal matters alongside the City Legal Office lawyers, further reinforcing the board’s commitment to due process and legal integrity.

The approved recommendations were based on the applicants’ complete documentation, eligibility, and active cooperation during the assessment process. This development reaffirms the LAB’s commitment to promoting justice, national reconciliation, and the reintegration of qualified individuals into society. It also reflects the board’s continued efforts toward a transparent, fair, and credible implementation of the national amnesty program.
