04 to 06 March 2025 (Catbalogan, Samar) โ€“ A significant milestone was achieved in the amnesty program as 68 applicants took a crucial step towards reintegration. The applicants attended an orientation and consultation at the Samar Provincial Police Office, facilitated by the Local Amnesty Board in Catbalogan City led by Peace Program Officer Ms Jazmine Odyssa B. Lutao.

The three-day activity was well-attended by key officials, including Provincial Director Antonieto Eric A Mendoza, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration Operations Police Lieutenant Colonel Michael Jude P. Dotingco, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Rollo, Chief of the Provincial Operations Unit. Police Major Alexander F. Opeรฑa, Legal Officer of the Philippine National Police, also witnessed the proceedings.

The Public Attorneyโ€™s Office demonstrated its full support for the program by deploying a team of lawyers, including Atty Mary Ann B. Llanera, District Public Attorney, who led the applicantsโ€™ oath of allegiance. Also joining Atty. Llanera were Atty Cyrine L. Calagos, Atty. Ervin G Agbon, Atty. Brent B. Lorenzo, Atty Donnie Wayne Villarin and Atty Benedict C. Balberia.

Furthermore, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) showed its continued support for the amnesty program through the presence of members from the Special Project Team and the Eastern Peace Builders Federation Secretariat. They assisted the former rebel applicants in ensuring the completeness of their narratives and properly accomplishing the required forms.
