21 September 2024 (Davao City) – Bangsamoro Member of Parliament (MP) Baileng S. Mantawil, along with Omar Bayao, a core member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s (MILF) Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), and Dennis Francisco, Chief of the Ad Hoc Joint Action Group (AHJAG) in the Davao Region, visited the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) office in Davao City.

During the visit, MP Mantawil, along with the MILF-CCCH and AHJAG representatives, received a comprehensive orientation from the National Amnesty Commission on the Rules of Procedure (ROP) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding amnesty applications. The second part of the visit was intended to facilitate the amnesty applications of MILF applicants who are Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DAPECOL), under the Bureau of Corrections (BUCOR) in Panabo City.

However, the planned visit to DAPECOL was postponed due to a communication oversight. All parties agreed to reschedule the visit to ensure the proper processing of amnesty applications.

This engagement reinforces the ongoing framework for MILF amnesty applications, promoting collaboration and shared resources between the LAB and its partners to support the success of the amnesty efforts.
