28 October 2025 (Bangued, Abra) – The 501st Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army conducted a two-part Former Rebels Summit to aid former combatants as they reintegrate into mainstream society. The event was kicked off at the Abra Provincial Capitol and was attended by the National Amnesty Commission represented by Local Amnesty Boards La Union and Baguio.

Over 100 former rebels from Abra Province were present in the event. During the summit, seventy-three (73) former rebels submitted Amnesty applications to the LAB. Additionally, 23 Safe Conduct Passes were issued to those who had previously applied, further supporting their reintegration into society.

Other government agencies including the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Trade and Industry, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Reconciliation and Unity, Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.
