10 March, 2026 (Vintar, Ilocos Norte) – The 77th Infantry (Don’t Dare) Battalion, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, led by Lieutenant Colonel Luis P. Banoey Jr., conducted a People’s Organization Summit with the theme β€œInstitutionalizing Peace: Strengthening People’s Organizations for Inclusive Development and Social Transformation” at the Vintar Public Auditorium in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, on March 10, 2026.

The event was attended by the National Amnesty Commission, represented by the Local Amnesty Board of La Union and Baguio. Civil society partners were also present, including the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and the Provincial Agriculture Office.

During the summit, ninety-five (95) former rebels submitted amnesty applications to the Local Amnesty Board (LAB), whose support contributed to the success of the activity, thereby promoting peace, unity, and sustainable community development.
