27 November, 2025 (Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental) – A total of 24 former rebels formally applied for amnesty during a one-day mass intake held in Brgy. Camingawan, Kabankalan City, on Thursday. The event was hosted by the 94th Infantry Battalion (94th IB) under the leadership of Col. Tabayan, with operational support from Capt. Villasis.

The amnesty forms were provided by the Local Amnesty Board (LAB) Secretariat based in Bacolod, enabling the smooth and efficient processing of applications throughout the day. A formal oath-taking ceremony followed, presided over by Atty. Baylon of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) in Kabankalan, with assistance from his legal aide. The ceremony marked the official submission of the former rebels’ amnesty applications to the government.

In his message to the applicants, Col. Tabayan urged them to fully commit to their decision to return to lawful society and avoid reverting to armed struggle. He encouraged them to β€œbe the change” within their communities and to serve as instruments of peace, especially to former comrades who have yet to surrender.

The activity concluded successfully, marking another step forward in ongoing reintegration efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability in southern Negros.
