12 January 2026 (Allen, Northern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, in collaboration with the 19th Infantry “Commando” Battalion, conducted an amnesty intake at the Allen Sub-Provincial Jail in Brgy Sabang Zone 1.

During the session, the LAB Secretariat explained the National Amnesty Program, detailing the process from the initial application to its final submission to the Office of the President. The team also provided an outline of the specific offenses covered by the program as well as those that are excluded.

Following the orientation, the legal counsel of the “friend rescued” (FR) discussed the implications and benefits of the amnesty program with the detainee. Subsequently, the detainee decided to apply for amnesty and took the Oath of Allegiance before Atty. Elmer Reyes of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). Atty. Reyes ensured that the applicant fully understood the significance and responsibilities of the oath.
