23 January, 2026 (Maguindanao del Norte) β The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Cotabato concluded its 5th case conference and deliberations involving six (6) amnesty applicants on 22β23 January 2026. This brings the total number of amnesty applications concluded by LAB Cotabato to fifty-two (52).
The amnesty case conference provides amnesty applicants with the opportunity to establish their qualifications for the grant of amnesty.
Among the amnesty applicants were MILF Northwestern Mindanao Front Commander and Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Member of Parliament Abdullah Goldiano Macapaar, also known as Commander Bravo; MILF Eastern Mindanao Front Commander and BTA Member of Parliament Akmad Indigay Abas, also known as Commander Jack Abas; and four (4) other MILF commanders.
The conference was led by LAB Chairperson Atty. Mariam April V. Mastura and attended by several LAB members, including Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)βCotabato Vice President Atty. Bai Pangandongan G. Dilangalen, IBP Secretary Atty. Mohammad M. Hadji Yusoph, Cotabato City Police Office Director P/Col. Jibin M. Bongcayao, and the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations of the 6th Infantry βKampilanβ Division (6ID), Col. Rey C. Rico, GSC (Inf), PA. Commissioner Kulayan was likewise present as an observer.
To date, a total of 991 applications have been received from the MILF. With the movement of their commandersβ applications, and the recent grant of amnesty to MILF Commander and Member of Parliament Basit Abas, the NAC hopes to see even more MILF members be inspired to join the promise of a just and peaceful future.
With the upcoming amnesty application deadline in March 5, 2026, the members and secretariat of LAB Cotabato continue to reach out and stand ready to lend a helping hand to those who choose the path of peace and reintegration.
