29 to 30 April 2025 – (Minkay Resort, Initao, Misamis Oriental) The Local Amnesty Board of Cagayan de Oro (LAB CDO) joins the two-day Amnesty Orientation Workshop for members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) held at the Minkay White Beach Resort in Initao, Misamis Oriental on April 29-30, 2025.

The event aimed to provide an avenue for the MILF, the government sector and civil society groups to come together and discuss in detail the important elements and processes of the program, address crucial issues and concerns and draft its plans of action for an Amnesty Caravan to be held at Camp Bilal bin Rabbah and its three base commands.

In a setting where a β€œbrave and safe space” was emphasized and upheld, an active and encouraging exchange of ideas, thoughts and opinions paved the way for a better understanding of the government’s peace initiatives which led to the drafting of a concrete blueprint for the conduct of the planned Amnesty Caravan.

The activity was organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10, under Regional Director Bruce Agusto Colao and DILG Lanao del Norte under Provincial Director Edward G. Bhagwani; the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) under Ms. Xarifa Sanguila and the Provincial Localized Normalization Implementation Committee (PLNIC).
