17 December 2025 (Allen, Northern Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, in collaboration with the 19th Infantry “Commando” Battalion, conducted a jail visitation to assist detained former rebels (FRs) at the Allen Sub-Provincial Jail in Brgy Sabang Zone 1.

The LAB Secretariat visited two high-profile FRs during the outreach. The team provided a detailed update on the application status of one individual who had previously submitted his amnesty application. Concurrently, they interviewed the second detainee to facilitate the processing of her Custodial Debriefing Report (CDR) and to verify her willingness to formally pursue an amnesty application under the government’s program.

Recognizing the necessity of proper legal counsel and formal procedures, the LAB team committed to returning to the facility at a later date. This follow-up visit will include a lawyer from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) to administer the required oath of allegiance for the FR who intends to officially apply for the program, ensuring all legal requirements are met in their path toward reintegration.
