07 October 2025 (Sta. Rita, Samar) – The Local Amnesty Board (LAB) of Catbalogan, Samar, delivered a training session to the 8th Civil-Military Operations (CMO) β€œDangpanan” Battalion to prepare them for a joint information campaign on the government’s amnesty program.

Prior to the lecture, the LAB Secretariat met with the Battalion Commander, LTC Dennis P. Rosario MI (GSC) PA, to discuss potential collaborations to broaden the campaign for the amnesty program.

Major Alejandro B. Paz Jr. (INF) PA, the Battalion’s Executive Officer, introduced the representatives from LAB Catbalogan to the CMO personnel. Thereafter, Peace Program Officer III Jazmine Odyssa Lutao provided a detailed overview of the program and its application procedures. Afterward, Legal Officer Atty. Gelyn Diaz-Omanito provided clarification on the crimes that the amnesty covers and those that it excludes.

An open forum followed, allowing CMO officers to clarify and enhance their knowledge of the program. With its public affairs function focused on information dissemination, the CMO Battalion will now assist LAB Catbalogan in publicizing the government’s amnesty program through all available media. This initiative aims to ensure that the community is well-informed about the opportunities available for those eligible for amnesty. By leveraging various media platforms, the CMO Battalion hopes to encourage participation and promote a deeper understanding of the program.
